Chemical labeling may be getting a whole lot easier - and effective.

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has instituted a new global classification and labeling system for chemicals. The system is being endorsed by OSHA and other agencies in the US and it's being adopted by many other countries around the globe. To accomodate this system, the Active Agenda project has added a "Globally Harmonizing Classifications" sub-module to the "Chemicals" module.

This module will enable organizations to associate the GHS classification/s with the chemicals they use and quickly generate labels with the GHS labeling pictograms. The GHS is exciting because it standardizes and simplifies chemical labeling AND there is an abundance of training material developed to support the system - yahoo! Now that's global collaboration.

The project has added the GHS classifications to Active Agenda's download. Check out the "Globally Harmonizing Classifications" in our demo .
