Who needs to know? When? How quickly? Did we contact them? Did we document that we contacted them? These may seem like silly questions, but not if you're required to contact key persons following defined events.

Any practicing risk manager can tell you that situation (peril) contact requirements are exhaustive and very difficult to track. Knowing who to contact when is only half the battle. Keeping up with organizational turn over makes the contact list even more difficult to manage.

To make everyone's life a little easier, we added functionality that automatically triggers required reporting based on the severity of situations when they occur. Once a situation is entered into the Incident Reporting module, the contact list appears until each required contact is contact and the contact is recorded and documented. We sure wish we had this a few years ago!
