2008-03-20 Group Permissions PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 20 March 2008

With over eighty modules and virtually hundreds of submodules, assigning permissions can be, well, challenging. We're working on some cool new tricks, but until then, we have enabled group permissions.

Active Agenda allows system administrators to assign edit, or view only, permissions by user, and restrict those permisisions to a user's own organziation or many different organizations. Now take that logic and multiply it by hundreds.

Mike (US), Zsolt (HU), Gerhard (CH) and Robbie (UK) pleaded with us to make this process a little easier. Our first step was to enable group permissions so that the logic associated with permission levels could be implemented for persons of similar needs (e.g. supervisor). Once a person is assigned to a group, they inherit the group permissions in addition to all greater permissions assigned to them via another group membership, or personal authority.
