What is Active Agenda?

Active Agenda^® is a community developed software application for operational risk management (OpRisk) . Active Agenda consists of more than eighty (80) integrated modules which help companies to manage and reduce risk and related costs. Active Agenda is an open source software development project.

Active Agenda consists of an OpRisk domain application AND a rapid application builder platform we call spec2app. Active Agenda was created to reduce workplace risk while empowering other domain professionals and niche developers to address their unique application needs.

The spec2app process utilizes a PHP generator to convert specifications written in XML to a functioning browser application atop a MySQL database. The application is highly modular and enables the customization and maintenance of the application using single XML module definitions to generate the database, search, screen layouts, charts, and support.

2008-07-21 Aviation Event Reporting

We were contacted by an insurance broker that specializes in aviation insurance. They were trying to build an aviation event reporting system using Microsoft Access. ...and then they discovered us.

We took a quick peek at the agency's progress and they introduced us to several other resources; such as, NASA's Aircraft Safety Reporting System (we automated their report forms), work underway by the University of Texas (we incorporated some of their taxonomies), and several sites working towards standardizing aviation taxonomies (e.g. International Civil Aviation Organization). We quickly built an Aircraft tracking module and a scalable system for reporting aviation events. We incorporated maintenance level reporting too.

Active Agenda already addresses issues such as: Incident Reporting , accountabilities, work orders, Internet notifications, hazard reporting, and other closely related issues, so we simply plugged those into the final solution.

We haven't posted the modules to the demo because they are so specialized for the aviation industry. However, if you're interested in seeing them in action, we would be happy to send them your way or provide you with login credentials to our Sample site.
