Hello all,
I am planning to change the relationships of equipment to other module tables in the Equipment Associations module <eqpa>. Currently, the associations are made between other modules (e.g. Controls <con>) and the Equipment Inventory <eqpa> module. I am proposing to change the relationship to the Equipment <eqp> module. This will make filtering of equipment associations more effective, but it will impact anyone using the equipment associations module. This change will also allow the assignment of equipment from an organizations central equipment database rather than from a specific inventory location.
Please let me know any thoughts about this change. If I don't receive feedback, I will begin making the changes within the week.
Thanks for any feedback/ideas...Dan |

Hi Dan
We absolutely support this change - it's more near to real life (in our site). |

| Thanks Zsolt. I have already started to tinker with the change. This design is much more intuitive to work with! I will commit the changes today...Dan |

Changes to the <eqpa> module have been completed and committed: at revision: 1096.
This change will require regeneration of all dependent modules and may require a trigger refresh (assuming previous use of the module with the EquipmentInventoryID).
Current Module Dependencies:
cnt
chmin
mtg
mtga
pplv
rtc
tra
tran
veh
vis
The refresh command is:
c:\path to php\php.exe s2a.php -t
Refreshing the triggers will orphan previous associations with equipment based on EquipmentInventoryID. The record relationships will remain between the <eqpa> module and the related modules (see list above) but the equipment will need to be re-identified and saved (it's much easier now). The new design seems much more intuitive and worth the work required to re-assign equipment (IMO).
Please provide any/all feedback. Thanks...Dan |
