Welcome to Active Agenda's documentation area! This part of the Active Agenda website contains technical documentation of the Active Agenda Web application, as well as notes on implementing Active Agenda from a "domain" perspective and a user's guide.
The documentation area is a "wiki", which enables YOU to add content to the documentation. Don't worry, you can't break anything permanently: All changes can be "rolled back" to a previous version.
If you are uncomfortable contributing to the wiki, but you found an area you would like to see developed, please feel free to enter a documentation request in the Active Agenda Issue Tracker (please be specific). The issue tracker is used to track issues with the application, the project website, and this support documentation. Active Agenda also uses this issue tracker to manage the project posted at sourceforge.net
We are using a "wiki" approach to documentation development because we know the documentation created by a community will improve the quality and quantity of user support in a shorter period of time. We want to remove ourselves as an obstacle to the community and accelerate the process of community collaboration.
Nevertheless, Active Agenda follows a unique approach to risk control through integrated business risk control processes. What this means to the community of documentation collaborators is that we (Active Agenda, Inc.) will moderate the documentation and make modifications necessary to maintain the spirit of the application, which is functional integration and collaboration. We specifically discourage efforts to "pigeon-hole" Active Agenda as a "safety only" or "compliance" product and we strongly encourage collaborators to develop documentation from a "cross-functional" or integrated perspective.

Getting Started With Active Agenda
Installation
The Bleeding Edge
Our latest source code is always available from our code repository. The easiest way to download it (and staying in sync with the latest updates as they get posted) is to use special client software. See the instructions for getting the latest code for more details.
We are in the process of adapting the code to support PHP 5. The next released version of Active Agenda will be numbered 0.9.0 in recognition of this. The latest source in the code repository already runs experimentally under PHP 5, but hasn't been widely tested yet.

Translation
Active Agenda is currently being translated into several languages. Our goal is to translate Active Agenda into every language spoken by people who face risk at work. We have posted a language translation forum for translators to discuss issues. A translation project page is also created as we become aware of a translation getting underway.
